
Takis THeodoropoulos
Takis Theodoropoulos was born in Athens in 1954. He studied comparative literature, theater studies, and the anthropology of the Greco-Roman world in Paris. In 1985, he co-published the cultural magazine "To Tetarto" with Manos Hadjidakis. He has worked in the publishing industry and maintains a daily column in the newspaper "Ta Nea." Among his novels, "The Unthinkable Landscape" and "The Fall of Narcissus" have been published or are forthcoming in several foreign languages, including French, Italian, Serbian, Turkish, and Bulgarian. Since 1996, he has been active in the publishing field. His novel "The Power of the Dark God" was awarded the Kostas and Eleni Ouranis Foundation Prize by the Academy of Athens in 1999. In 2004, the French Academy honored him with one of its major awards, the "Silver Medal for the Influence of the French Language and Literature." From March 2010 to October 2011, when he resigned for personal reasons, he served as the Chairman of the Board of the National Book Center by appointment of the Minister of Culture and Tourism.
