Elena Vitalaki

Eleni Vitalaki holds a Bachelor's degree in Education from the University of Crete (1994) and a Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology from the Department of Philosophical Studies at the University of Crete (2002). She also obtained a Postdoctoral Title (2007) from the Department of Primary Education at the University of Crete. Additionally, she specializes in Counseling & Counseling Skills within the framework of school education. Her doctoral research focused on examining the type of communication between mothers-infants and grandmothers-infants in their natural environment, while her postdoctoral work explored communication and ways of involving parents and educators in critical educational issues. She has extensive teaching experience as an instructor at the University of Crete. Since 2007, she has been a permanent educator in primary education. Her writing interests are inspired by issues in developmental and educational psychology and relate to the interaction and communication of the child with both Significant Others and educational institutions within school settings. She is married and a mother of two children.
