Giannis G. Aygoustatos

Giannis Avgoustatos studied medicine and surgery at the "La Sapienza" University of Rome, graduating with honors, and specialized in Psychiatry in Greece. He trained in Cognitive Therapy and Analytic Group Psychotherapy. A scholar of social and philosophical issues, he frequently gives lectures and writes articles. He coordinates Self-awareness Groups with a developmental and humanitarian focus. Since 2000, he has been teaching at the Municipal People's University of the Municipality of Agia Paraskevi. In 1995, he co-founded the Movement of Philosophical Groups for Free Spiritual Expression, where he served as a representative twice. For five years, he curated and hosted the television show "Introspections," which featured psychological and philosophical reflections, and since early 2017, he has been hosting weekly online broadcasts on Reconnection Radio. He is the creator of several blogs as well as numerous thematic groups and pages on Facebook. He organizes philosophical walks and, since 2014, has initiated the monthly open meetings of the "City's Philosophical Café" in Athens. He volunteers with the cancer patients' association K.E.F.I. He is a member of organizations for the protection of nature and human rights and the founder (2014) of "LIGHT IN ACTION," a Movement that combines spirituality with selfless activist action. He resides and works privately in Agia Paraskevi, where he directs the Center for Mental Therapy and Development.
