Nikos E. Karapidakis

Nikos E. Karapidakis was born in 1955 in Heraklion, Crete. He studied classical philology at the University of Strasbourg and Archival Science-Paleography at the Ecole Nationale des Chartes. He worked as an archivist from 1982 at the Historical Archive of Corfu, at the General Archives of the European Union Commission, and then, from 1989 to 1993, as the director of the General State Archives. Since 1990, he has been teaching medieval history at the Ionian University. His writing focuses on the history of institutions, social groups, and the historiography of the Middle Ages and the Venetian rule. (Source: Archive of Contemporary Authors, EKEBI)
