Argyro Pipini
Argyro Pipini is an actress and author of children's books. She studied at the Political Science Department of the Law School of Athens and attended the theater schools of P. Katseli and Veaki. She has participated in seminars such as Exploring Character, Exploring Shakespeare, Contemporary German Theater, and Chekhov Studio. For several years, she taught acting (Elizabethan theater, psychological realism, classical comedy) at various schools. She has directed performances with her students as part of their studies and guided third-year students of the Veaki School (in 2000) through their exams with the production "Playing Shakespeare and Playing with Shakespeare." As an actress, she has worked in theater with many directors, including Maya Lyberopoulou, Roula Pateraki, Victor Ardittis, Nikos Charalambous, Christoforos Christofis, among others, mainly performing roles from the classical repertoire. Her children's books are available, and she is also involved in translating children's and young adult books, theater texts, and adapting classic texts. In 2012, she was awarded the Children's Book Translation Prize by the Hellenic Society of Literary Translators for her translation of "Fish in the Sky" by Fridrik Erlings (published by Patakis). In 2017, she received the Picture Book Award from the Greek Children's Book Circle-IBBY for her book "Summer, Autumn, Winter, Spring, Summer..." (illustrated by Iris Samartzi, published by Patakis) and the Illustrated Children's Book Award from the magazine www.anagnostis.gr for her book "Melak, Alone" (illustrated by Achilleas Razis, published by Kaleidoscope).
