Benjamin Franklin

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) was one of the Founding Fathers of the United States of America and simultaneously one of the most multifaceted personalities in history. He was a distinguished scientist, inventor, successful author, printer, social activist, political theorist, and diplomat. He is the only one among the Founding Fathers of the American nation to have signed all four fundamental documents that ratified the transformation of the British colonies into an independent state: the Declaration of Independence, the Treaty with France, the Peace Treaty with England, and the first Constitution of the United States. He was a polymath with a remarkable body of written work and a significant influence on public opinion.
