Sara Blaedel

Sara Blædel, the daughter of a journalist and an actress, grew up in an environment filled with people inclined towards writing and the arts, as well as reporting, gathering information, and research. She attributes her passion for mystery stories to these influences. After reaching adulthood, she worked various jobs to make ends meet, from waitress in a restaurant to employee at a graphic arts company. Eventually, she found her way into the book industry by founding a small publishing house that released American crime fiction translated into Danish. The next step in her professional life was almost inevitably journalism and writing. In 2004, Louise Rick and Camilla Lind, her formidable heroines, entered readers' lives with the release of the novel "Green Dust" in Denmark. With this work, Sara won the Danish Crime Academy's Debutant Award and quickly earned the title of the queen of crime in her homeland. Today, the books in her series featuring her famous heroines are published in 37 countries with tremendous commercial success. In 2014, she was voted Denmark's most popular author for the fourth time, and in 2015, she received Denmark's highest literary award, De Gyldne Laurbær. She lives in Copenhagen with her family. When not crafting tales of brutal murders, she serves as an ambassador for the organization 'Save the Children'.
