Nikos Sideris

Nikos Sideris was born in Athens in 1952 and studied medicine at the University of Athens. He moved to Paris for postgraduate studies, specializing in psychiatry, history, and neuropsychology-neurolinguistics. He holds a Ph.D. from the Department of Psychology at Panteion University, is a teaching psychoanalyst at the Psychoanalytic School of Strasbourg (E.P.S.), and a member of the European Federation of Psychoanalysis (FEDEPSY). He works in Athens as a psychiatrist, psychoanalyst, and family therapist. He has taught at various institutions, including the Medical School of the University of Thessaly, Athens College, and Deree College. Since 2003, he has been teaching the course "Architecture and Psychoanalysis" at the School of Architecture of the National Technical University of Athens and the course "Visual Creation and the Artist's Fantasy: The Case of Eroticism" at the Athens School of Fine Arts. He has published studies, essays, as well as poetry and prose. Among his published books are: "The Internal Bilingualism" (1995), "Architecture and Psychoanalysis: Fantasy and Construction" (2006), "As They Were Said and Heard: Secrets and Truths from the Analyst's Couch" (2008), "Freud Crypto-Red? History, Theory, Fantasy" (2009).
