
John Kiriakou
John Kiriakou was a senior staff member in the United States Senate. He served in the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) from 1990 to March 2004, initially as an analyst and later as a counterterrorism operations officer. He was later appointed as the executive assistant to the CIA's Deputy Director of Operations, a position from which he was directly involved in planning for the Iraq War. His articles on the Middle East and Afghanistan have been published in over eighty newspapers in dozens of countries. He was sentenced to 30 months in prison for revealing the name of another CIA officer.
