
Siddhartha Mukherjee
Siddhartha Mukherjee, an American of Indian descent, was born in New Delhi, India, in 1970. He studied at Stanford University (where he worked in the laboratory of Nobel laureate molecular biologist Paul Berg), Oxford University (DPhil), and Harvard Medical School (MD). He served as a research fellow at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and worked as an attending physician in the oncology department of Massachusetts General Hospital and at Harvard's university clinic. A cancer researcher, he is currently an assistant professor of Medicine at Columbia University. He has published articles in journals such as "Nature," "The New Republic," "The New York Times Magazine," among others. He lives in New York with his wife and daughter.
