Eylampia Tsireli

Evlampia Tsireli is an author, theologian with postgraduate and doctoral studies, and a writing instructor. She specializes in the ancient Near East and the cultural environment of Israel. She has worked in private secondary education, collaborated with the Hellenic Bible Society, and taught creative writing as an educational tool in lesson plans for Religious Studies in teacher training for secondary education and to students of the Faculty of Theology at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She translates and edits literary and academic texts. Since 2014, she has been teaching writing and text editing at her workshop - Imaginarium Writing Workshop - in Thessaloniki. Dozens of her students have published books in fantasy, magical realism, and children's literature. She delivers talks and seminars at conferences and major cultural events every year (Tedxauth, Thessaloniki Book Fair, ComiCon, Central Municipal Library of Thessaloniki), and has significantly contributed to introducing contemporary readers to fantasy literature. A major milestone in her career was her acquaintance with J.R.R. Tolkien's biographer, Colin Duriez, who also wrote the foreword for her study "Trees and Forests of Middle-earth." Among other activities, she is a founding member of the organizing committee of the Fantasmagoria Fantasy Festival, under the auspices of the Municipality of Thessaloniki, and coordinates the Fantasy Literature Club at the Central Municipal Library of Thessaloniki.
