Andreas Mitsou

He hails from Amfilochia. He has studied English literature, Greek philology, and holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy. He was a member of the editorial board and content manager of the educational magazine "Neoelliniki Paideia," published under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, and a member of the state awards committee of the Ministry of Culture. He has published essays and literary criticism in newspapers such as "To Vima," "Exousia," "Kathimerini," and in magazines like "Anti," "Indiktos," "Diavazo," and "Elitrochos." He is a member of the Society of Authors. He has published seven short story collections, four novels, and one novella. His novel "The Powerless Lies" by Orestis Chalkiopoulos was awarded the State Novel Prize in 1996. His short story collection "Wasps" received the Kostas Ouranis Literary Prize from the Academy of Athens in 2002. In 2007, his novella "Mr. Episkopakis" was honored with the Readers' Award (EKEBI - ERT), and the following year, it was adapted for the stage by the author himself and performed at the "104 Center for Speech and Art" under the direction of Stelios Mainas. In 2016, Andreas Mitsou was awarded the State Short Story Prize for his collection "The Exquisite Woman and the Fish." His works have been anthologized and translated into various languages. He works as a school advisor for philologists in the Secondary Education of Athens.
