Maria Iatrou

Maria Iatrou was born in Thessaloniki in 1957. She graduated from the School of Philosophy at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (A.U.Th.), where she also received her doctoral degree by submitting a monograph on the intertextual relationships in the poetry collection "The Era of Lean Cows" by Dinos Christianopoulos. Her independent publications also include an anthology of the poetry of Giorgos Sarantaris, with an introduction discussing its reception by literary critics, and a monograph on the theme of dreams in selected poems from Solomos to Empeirikos. Since 2009, she has been serving as an assistant professor in the Department of Philology at A.U.Th.
