Peter Fonagy
Peter Fonagy is a Professor of Psychoanalysis at the "Freud Memorial" and Deputy Director of the Department of Clinical Health Psychology at University College London. He is also a senior executive at the "Anna Freud" Centre and a consultant for the "Child and Family" program in the Department of Psychiatry at the "Menninger" Clinic of Baylor College of Medicine in the USA. He is a clinical psychologist, trainer, and supervising analyst for children and adults at the British Psychoanalytical Society. His clinical interests focus on issues of borderline psychopathology, violence, and early attachment relationships. His work attempts to merge empirical research with psychoanalytic theory. He holds various significant positions, including Vice President of the Research Committee of the International Psychoanalytical Society of the British Academy. He has published over two hundred chapters and articles and has authored and edited several books, including: "Attachment Theory and Psychoanalysis" (2001), "Affect Regulation, Mentalization, and the Development of the Self" (2002), "What Works for Whom?
