Jürgen Osterhammel

Jürgen Osterhammel (1952-) studied history, political science, German philology, and philosophy at the Universities of Marburg, Hamburg, and London. He completed his doctorate in history at the University of Kassel. Since 1999, he has been teaching modern and contemporary history at the University of Konstanz in Germany, and in 2010, he was awarded the G.W. Leibniz Prize.
