Claude Lecouteux

Claude Lecouté (born 1943) is a historian specializing in the Middle Ages and an emeritus professor at the Sorbonne University (Université Paris IV), holding the Chair of German Culture and Medieval Literature. His academic interests focus on mythology, magic, and the folk beliefs of the Middle Ages that evoke supernatural entities from the pre-Christian era. In addition to his tenure at the Sorbonne, he also taught German languages and literature at the University of Caen and was the editor of the journal "La grande Oreille."
