
Joël Dicker
Joël Dicker was born in Geneva in 1985. He studied theater in Paris and law at the University of Geneva, where he completed his master's degree in 2010. From the age of ten to seventeen, he was the editor-in-chief of "La Gazette des Animaux," a monthly magazine about animals and nature. In 2010, at the age of 25, he won the Prix des Ecrivains Genevois for the unpublished manuscript of his book "Les Derniers jours de nos pères," which was later published in France in 2012. Unexpected success came with his next book, the thriller "La Vérité sur l’affaire Harry Quebert" ("The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair," published by Patakis), which sold 1 million copies in France alone, was shortlisted for the Goncourt and Femina prizes, won the Grand Prix du Roman from the French Academy and the Prix Goncourt des Lycéens, and was translated into more than 35 languages.
