
Alekos CHatzikostas
Alekos A. Chatzikostas was born in Veria in 1960. He is a journalist and the publisher of the newspaper "Η άλλη άποψη" and the website alli-apopsi.gr. His articles have been published for decades in newspapers, magazines, and websites, and he has participated with presentations in a series of historical conferences and seminars. He has published the following non-commercial books: "Η Εθνική Αντίσταση στον Νομό Ημαθίας" (The National Resistance in the Prefecture of Imathia, 2003), "Η Ημαθία από τη Βάρκιζα στον Εμφύλιο" (Imathia from Varkiza to the Civil War, 2004), "Δυτικά του Αλιάκμονα" (West of Aliakmonas, Short Stories, 2012).
He was awarded the First Commendation in the 40th Panhellenic Literary Competition "Dimitrios Vikelas" in 2011. His short story "Η Κυριακή της... Ορθοδοξίας" (The Sunday of... Orthodoxy), included in the collection "Σχεδία μνήμης" (Raft of Memory), received the Second Commendation in the 6th Panhellenic Literary Competition "Dimitrios Vikelas" in 2014.
"Σχεδία μνήμης" (Raft of Memory, Ars Poetica, 2014) was essentially his first commercially available collection of short stories. In 2016, he released the novella "Το παρελθόν κρατά πολύ" (The Past Lasts Long, published by Entypois).
