
Juan Gabriel Vásquez
Juan Gabriel Vásquez was born in Bogotá, Colombia, in 1973, and studied Latin American Literature at the Sorbonne. He has published four novels: "Los informantes" (The Informers), 2004, "Historia secreta de Costaguana" (The Secret History of Costaguana), 2007, "El ruido de las cosas al caer" (The Sound of Things Falling), 2011, and "Las reputaciones" (Reputations), 2013. Additionally, he has released a short story collection, "Los amantes de Todos los Santos" (The Lovers of All Saints), 2008, and a collection of literary essays, "El arte de la distorsion" (The Art of Distortion), 2009. He has been honored with numerous international awards, the most notable being the Premio Alfaguara (2011), the English Pen Award (2012), the Prix Roger Caillois (2012), and the Premio Von Rezzori (2013).
