
Alex Ferguson
Sir Alex Ferguson was born in 1941 in Govan, Scotland. A forward with a knack for scoring, he was signed by Rangers for a record transfer fee in Scotland. In 1974, he began his managerial career at East Stirlingshire and then at St. Mirren, before moving to Aberdeen, where he gained international attention by winning the European Cup Winners' Cup, in addition to achieving success in Scotland.
He took the helm at Manchester United in 1986 and won a total of 38 trophies, including 5 FA Cups, 13 Premier League titles, and 2 European Championships (Champions League). Following the Treble in 1999, he was knighted. He is regarded as the most successful British manager of all time, with a total of 49 trophies.
Sir Alex Ferguson announced his retirement from active management in 2013. However, he continues to serve Manchester United in an executive role and is a lecturer at Harvard Business School.
