Nikos Petridis
Nikos Petridis was born in Nea Orestiada, Evros, and grew up in Alexandroupoli, where he still resides today. His paternal roots trace back to Amygdaleonas, Kavala, one of the Greek villages that saw a mass settlement of refugees from Nicopolis of Pontus, while his maternal roots are from the riverside village of Petrades, Didymoteicho.
He studied History at the School of Philosophy in Athens and has been working as a journalist since 1990. In recent years, his main focus has been researching the Hellenism of Pontus. His work involves studying archival material from around the world, discovering and highlighting new, multifaceted, and stereotype-free historical elements, which is his primary concern.
He describes this endeavor as a "libation to the memory of his ancestors," and as such, it is inherently sincere and grounded in the theoretical tools of historical science.
