Giorgos-Xanthippos Trochopoulos

George-Xanthippos Trochopoulos was born in Veria to parents who were refugees from Pontus. He is a pharmacist, a graduate of the School of Pharmacy at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and a renowned pianist with performances in Greece and abroad. He graduated from the "New Conservatory" of Thessaloniki, studying piano under the pianist Anna Tsitsa-Kounio and advanced theory under the composer Christos Samaras. He studied piano for four years with Maestro-Pianist George Thymis and attended piano seminars with pianist Katerina Polyzoidou-Sourvali in Graz, Austria. He contributes articles to the local press in his city and to nationwide websites such as zougla.gr. He is the author of the following books: "Citizen Xanthippos," which consists of writings reflecting his thoughts on social and political issues. "Indelible Mark," a novel that vividly portrays the history of Greece through the life and times of two families involved in an adoption case. He has served as: - A Municipal Councilor and Deputy Mayor of Culture for the Municipality of Veria. - A member of the Supreme Disciplinary Council of the Panhellenic Pharmaceutical Association. - President of the Pharmaceutical Association of Imathia for 15 consecutive years. - President of the Cooperative of Pharmacists of Imathia-Pella for three years. - An elector of the Pharmaceutical Association of Imathia in the Panhellenic Pharmaceutical Association. For his overall contributions, he was honored by the Metropolitan of Veria, Naousa, and Kampania, His Eminence Panteleimon. In October 2013, during the Pharma Point Pharmaceutical Conference, the Pharmaceutical Association of Thessaloniki awarded him a distinction "as a minimal recognition of his efforts to establish and highlight the social role of the pharmacist." He is married to high school principal Anastasia Karakosta, and they have three children. He lives and works in Veria.
