Dimitris Papaioannou
Dimitris K. Papaioannou was born in Agrinio in 1948. He holds a degree from the School of Theology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (EKPA) and is a graduate of the Institute of Specialization in Business Administration at the Athens University of Economics and Business (ASO & EE). He also attended courses at the Law School of EKPA. He worked as an accountant at the VIOHALCO group, specifically at ETEM S.A. (Industrial), TEKA S.A. (Construction), EXEKA Ltd. (Export), and FOMENTOS ARMADORA S.A. (Shipping). He taught as a theology professor at the German School of Athens (Deutschen Schule Athen) from 1980 to 1982 and in public education from 1982 until his retirement in 2011. He served as an advisor to the Ministers of Education Antonis Tritsis, Georgios Papandreou, Dimitris Fatouros, Gerasimos Arsenis, and Petros Efthymiou. He was a contributor to the newspaper "Eleftherotypia" from 1985 to 2011. He published three books: "From the Nations," a poetry collection in 1975, "The Politics of Bishops during the Ottoman Rule," a historical-canonical study in 1991, and "The Gesture and the Spirit of Power," a collection of articles published in "Eleftherotypia" from 1985 to 1991. Since 2011, after retiring from education with a career spanning 38.5 years, he has been involved in agriculture and practicing martial arts.
