Wilkie Collins

Wilkie Collins was born in London in 1824. He was the author of the first detective stories in English and a pioneer in mystery and suspense tales. He was a close friend and collaborator of Charles Dickens. His books "Antonina," "The Woman in White," "No Name," "Armadale," and "The Moonstone" achieved great commercial success. He passed away in 1889.
