
Michalis Makropoulos
Michalis Makropoulos was born in Athens in 1965 and studied biology at the University of Athens. He lived for nine years in Thessaloniki. He currently resides in Lefkada with his wife and their two children and spends long periods in Delvinaki Pogoni in Epirus. He works as a literary translator from English and French, having translated numerous works by authors such as Ernest Hemingway, Truman Capote, F.S. Fitzgerald, John Steinbeck, Ray Bradbury, Stephen King, Saul Bellow, Richard Powers, Michel Faber, Antoine de Saint-Exupery, Martin Amis, among others. He has published the following books for adults: "The Sorrow in the Mouse's Eyes," Odysseas 1996, "Julia Had One Leg," Odysseas 1998, "Stories of Tiny and Giant Creatures," Oxy 2000, "The Monster and Love," Estia 2002, "The Magical Excursion," Estia 2005, "The End of the Journey," Estia 2006, "The Empty Chair," Kastaniotis 2007, "Sparrow and Graham," Yiannis Pikramenos, 2012, "Journey to Pogoni" (texts, photographs), Fagotto, 2013, "The Judas Tree," Kichli, 2014, as well as six children's books. His writings and reviews are published in various magazines (diastixo.gr, "Frear," etc.). He works as a literary translator.
