Yuval Noah Harari

Yuval Noah Harari was born in Haifa, Israel, in 1976. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Oxford and currently teaches at the Department of History at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He specializes in world, medieval, and military history. Harari also teaches a massive open online course titled "A Brief History of Humankind," which attracted over 80,000 students in its first year. He has been awarded the Polonsky Prize for Creativity and Originality twice (in 2009 and 2012) and the Moncado Award from the Society for Military History (in 2011) for his related articles. His book "Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind" has been translated into 30 languages and has become a bestseller in many countries, capturing the interest of both the academic community and the general public, and turning Harari into a celebrity. In 2015, Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook, selected the book for his online book club, describing it as "a big historical narrative of human civilization."
