Massimo Recalcati is one of the renowned Italian psychoanalysts with undeniable recognition not only in the Italian and international scientific community but also more broadly in Italian society as a whole. He studied at the University of Milan and in Paris, where he had the opportunity to work with Jacques-Alain Miller and subsequently undergo analysis by him. He is one of the founding members of ALI (Italian Lacanian Psychoanalysis Association) and the scientific director of IRPA (Research Institute of Applied Psychoanalysis), where he teaches "Fundamental Principles of Lacanian Psychoanalysis." He is the inspirer and founder of Jonas Onlus (Center for Psychoanalytic Clinic for New Symptoms), with extensive activities in many cities across Italy. Since 2005, he has been the head of the Neuropsychiatric Unit at the Sant’Orsola Children's Hospital in Bologna. He has taught at the universities of Milan, Padua, Bergamo, and Urbino, as well as at the International University Menéndez Pelayo in Spain. Currently, he teaches Psychopathology of Eating Behavior at the University of Pavia and Psychoanalytic Clinic of Anorexia at CEPUSPP (Centre d’Enseignement Post-Universitaire pour la Specialisation en Psychiatrie et Psychotherapie) in Lausanne. He participates in seminars in major European cities. His literary work includes approximately 30 books, many of which have been translated into French, Spanish, Austrian, Argentinean, Serbian, Brazilian, German, and English.
