Dr. Efrosyni Alevizou is a psychologist and psychotherapist. She earned her Master of Arts in Developmental Psychology from the Department of Psychology at the University of Waterloo, Canada, and her Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology from the Department of Psychology at the University of Athens. She completed a two-year postgraduate clinical training program in Cognitive Psychotherapy at the Research University Institute of Mental Health (E.P.I.P.S.Y.) of the University of Athens. Additionally, she has completed a five-year training program in systemic psychotherapy at the Athenian Center for the Study of Human Behavior, a two-year training in art therapy at the Center for Art and Psychotherapy, and a one-year clinical-theoretical seminar at the Adolescent and Young Adult Psychiatry Department of G.N.A. "G. Gennimatas." From 1997 to 2004, she worked as a psychotherapist and collaborator with Thanos Askitis at the Institute of Mental and Sexual Health and Interpersonal Relationships. As a scientific associate of the Institute, she was also involved in organizing and conducting sexual education seminars in schools, as well as seminars for couples and parents. She worked as a Psychologist-Counselor providing supportive services at the Vocational Training Center for Individuals with Special Needs of OAED in Galatsi (1999-2004). Since 2005, she has been active in the field of psychotherapy and research, working at the A' KEDDY of Athens (Center for Differential Diagnosis, Diagnosis, and Support), focusing on supporting students with learning and psychosocial difficulties.
