
E. M. Forster
Edward Morgan Forster is considered one of the great modern British authors. He was born in London in 1879 and graduated from King's College, Cambridge in 1897. In addition to his five renowned novels, including "Howards End" (1910), Forster published 19 other works: two biographies, two books based on his experiences in Alexandria during World War I, a screenplay, and the libretto for the opera "Billy Budd." Two of his novels are inspired by Italy: "Where Angels Fear to Tread" (1905) and "A Room with a View" (1908). "A Passage to India" (1924) sold one million copies. His two short story collections are titled "The Celestial Omnibus" (1911) and "The Eternal Moment" (1928). His studies include: "Aspects of the Novel" (1927), "Abinger Harvest" (1936), and "Two Cheers for Democracy" (1951). He passed away in June 1970.
