Julian Barnes

Born in 1946 in Leicester, Great Britain, he studied law and French literature at Oxford. His first novel, "Metroland," was published in 1980. "Flaubert's Parrot" (1984) (available in Greek from Metaichmio Publications) won literary awards in England, Italy, and France. In 1986, the American Academy of Arts and Letters awarded him the E.M. Forster Award. His novel "England, England" (Metaichmio, 2002) was shortlisted for the Booker Prize in 1998, an award he eventually won in 2011 with the novel "The Sense of an Ending" (Metaichmio, 2011).
