
Eugene Rogan
Eugene Lawrence Rogan was born in 1960 in the USA. He studied at Columbia and received his Ph.D. from Harvard. Since 1991, he has been teaching in the Department of Oriental Studies at the University of Oxford, where in 2015 he became a Professor of Modern Middle Eastern History and a Fellow at St Antony's College. In 2017, he was elected a Fellow of the British Academy for the humanities and social sciences. He is the author of the international historical bestseller "The Arabs," as well as "Frontiers of the State in the Late Ottoman Empire," for which he was awarded the Albert Hourani Prize.
