Giorgis Exarchos was born in Kalochori, Larissa, in 1952. He graduated from the six-grade Gymnasium of Sykourio in 1970, earned a degree from the Economics Department of the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) in 1975, and obtained a Ph.D. in Economic Sciences from the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies (ASE) in 1980. He has been involved in literature and creative writing since his teenage years. His first book was published in 1985, and to date, he has published over forty books, including poetry, fairy tales, folklore, ethnological and historical studies, anthropological research, economic treatises, translations, and more. He has collaborated with magazines such as Agonistis, Defi, Riga, Travelers, Schedia, Romantso, Ichneftis, Diavazo, Stigmes, Scholiastis, Photographer, Epsilon, Laiko Tragoudi, Erevna, Economic Review, Tourism Topics, Epta Imeres, among others. Additionally, he worked with the B', C', and D' Programs of the Hellenic Radio of ERT SA (1986-1991) as a producer of ethnological, ecological, musical, and cultural broadcasts, and with Athenian newspapers such as Exormisi, Kyriakatiki Eleftherotypia and Eleftherotypia, Proti, Kathimerini, Avgi, Naftemporiki, and Macedonia of Thessaloniki, as well as with Paneyvoikon Vima Chalkidas, Eleftheria Larissas, Eleftheria of Serres, among others, as an external collaborator. He was the scientific supervisor and screenwriter of the documentary "Douka 'n Kali - On the Road" (1987), produced by the Ministry of Culture, and his text was the basis for the ERT documentary on the life of folk clarinetist Vaios Malliaras (1989). His book "Brothers Manakia" (Gavriilidis 1991) inspired the script for the Cannes Festival award-winning film "Ulysses' Gaze," directed by Theodoros Angelopoulos. His lyrics feature in the folk song of the multi-award-winning film "A Hero in Rome" by Panos Angelopoulos. He has participated as a speaker or delegate in numerous scientific international and national conferences both in Greece and abroad and is a member of scientific committees of "anonymous reviewers" for scientific journals. He has served as a consultant, collaborator, or scientific staff (meeting the requirements of existing legislation) for the political leadership of the Ministries: YBET (1982), YXOP (1982-1984), Industry (1986-1987), Agriculture (1995-2000), and YPECHODE (2000-2003). He taught as an adjunct professor of economics at the TEI of Chalkida (1991-1994), as a scientific associate at the A-TEI of Crete (2003-2006), and since November 2006, he has been a regular assistant professor at the A-TEI of Serres. Ioannidou (Kastaniotis, 1998 - Award of the Hellenic Society of Literary Translators), "Rigas Velestinlis" (Kastaniotis, 1998), the two-volume work "The Helleno-Vlachs-Armanians" (Kastaniotis, 2001), "The Authentic Text and the True Author of the Work 'Monograph on Vlachs or Koutsovlachs'" (Chalkida 2002), "Pountea di Arta - The Bridge of Arta" (Skala, Larissa 2002), "Foreign Travelers on the Vlachs - 1. Francophones 1550-1980" (Erodios, Thessaloniki 2004), "Foreign Travelers on the Vlachs - 2." Six of the aforementioned works were or are distributed in Higher Education Institutions in our country. The published articles in scientific journals or volumes of scientific conference proceedings are mostly included in the bibliographic tables of the aforementioned books. The citations, in scientific and generally in literary, journalistic, etc., works, exceed 600, which certifies its wide impact on the scientific community and the reading public.
