Nikolaos K. Tasiopoulos

Nikolaos K. Tassiopoulos was born in Vasilika, Boeotia, in 1950. He served in the Gendarmerie and later in the Hellenic Police, from which he retired in October 2004 with the rank of Lieutenant General. He held both operational and staff positions, including Head of Security and Order and Chief of Staff at the Hellenic Police Headquarters. He led the Olympic Forces during the Athens Olympic Games in August 2004. He holds a degree from the Law Department of the University of Athens and speaks six foreign languages. He has published two books on abbreviations, acronyms, and initialisms, with several editions.
