
Eydokia Poimenidou-CHatzidimitriou
Evdokia Poimenidou - Chatzidimitriou was born in Xylagani, in the Rodopi region, in 1958. She studied Early Childhood Education in Thessaloniki. Later, she obtained a degree from the University of Thessaly as part of the degree equivalency program for Pedagogical Academies and Nursery Schools. She attended numerous seminars and training programs and worked in kindergartens across almost all of Greece. She is married to Christos Chatzidimitriou and has three children.
She wrote the fairy tales she heard from her grandmother, and twelve of them were compiled into a book titled "Grandmother Evdokia's Fairy Tales," which is sold exclusively by the Folklore Museum of Xylagani in the Rodopi region to support its revenue. In 2013, her second book, "A Bouquet of Fairy Tales," featuring her own stories, was published. This book won an award at the "SIKELIANA" competition in 2014.
She has received two more awards for her fairy tales. The story "A Paw That's Just Trouble" won first prize in the MKAED DIOTIMA AND MUSES competition, and the fairy tale "The Dragon Who Ate the Fairy Tales" won first prize at the "SIKELIANA" competition in 2014.
She is a member of the Women's Literary Society, the Cultural Center of Educators of Larissa, ELOSYL, and the Theatrical Group of Educators of Larissa. In all her endeavors, she has the support and assistance of her husband, Christos Chatzidimitriou. Since 1988, she has been living in Larissa.
