Martha Lempesi
Martha Lempesi is a sociologist with a postgraduate degree in Criminology. She is a founding member and Director of the Crime Study Center (KEME). In recent years, she has collaborated with the Epano N.P.I.D. for the Social Reintegration of Ex-Prisoners, which operates under the supervision of the Ministry of Citizen Protection. Her responsibilities include monitoring and updating the database and managing the organization's statistical data. Since 2017, she has also participated in research programs implemented by the organization. Additionally, she has collaborated with the Center for Gender Equality Studies (KETHI) as part of a research program focused on "Interventions for the Promotion of Gender Equality and the Psychosocial, Family, and Professional Reintegration and Adaptation of Incarcerated and Released Women." She has worked as a researcher at the National Center for Social Research (EKKE), specifically on the research project "Dynamic Management of Social Data Bases and Cartographic Representations (SoDaMap)" under the National Scope Action "Development Proposals of Research Institutions - KRIPIS." Her scientific and research interests include issues related to criminality, crime representations in the media, anti-crime policy, communication, and the sense of security in the media, post-penal care, and the social integration of vulnerable social groups. Her articles and studies have been published in collective scientific volumes and criminology journals, and she has presented papers at scientific conferences in Greece and abroad.
