Petros Kasimatis
Petros Kasimatis was born in Athens. He is an investigative reporter specializing in cutting-edge topics, with assignments and exclusives from around the world featured in Le Monde, BBC, CNN, and all major international news agencies. He has interviewed figures such as Ocalan, Karadzic, Arafat, George Habash, the "Achille Lauro" hijacker Abu Abbas, UCK leader Hashim Thaci, Adriatic mobster Don Michele Patso, Contras leader Adolfo Calero Portocarrero, author Jorge Luis Borges, Jimmy Carter, and Sheikh Sayyed, who granted him an interview in a hideout in bombed-out Beirut. He also undertook a mission to ISIS hideouts in the Middle East. He has written over ten books and traveled to more than seventy countries. He has covered ten wars and regime changes worldwide. He was honored with the Botsis Journalism Award for his work on the missing persons of Cyprus and the First International Literature Award by the Argentine Writers' Association in Buenos Aires, in the Borges Hall. He has taught Sociology of History at the university level and is a visiting professor at Comrat University. He also served as the Director of the Press Office of the Greek Parliament.
