Apostolos Strogylis

Apostolos Strongylis was born in Karditsa in 1919 and was one of the pioneers of the National Resistance in the Thessaly region. After the liberation, he faced persecution, spending time in various prisons and places of exile. Since 1952, he worked as a professional journalist for "Avgi," "Fileleftheros," and other newspapers. He authored books on the resistance and the Greek economy, including: "The Common Market," Themelio, 1962, "The Guerrilla Airfield," Glaros, 1989, "The Capital of Free Greece," Fytrakis, 1989, "The Drachma and How to Protect It," Fytrakis, 1990, "Panagis Papaligouras, the European Greek Politician," Odysseas, 1995, "Three Figures of the Resistance, Sarafis-Kartalis-Karagiorgis," Filistor/EDIA, 1996, and literary works: "The Filipinas and Their Ladies - Cheerful and Bitter Stories," Fytrakis, 1990, "Adriana," a novel, Fytrakis, 1991, "Myrto and the Others," a novel, Odysseas, 1996. He is a member of the Union of Journalists, the Panhellenic Union of Journalists of the National Resistance, and the Union of Greek Writers.
