Chip Kidd is a graphic designer and author. He lives in New York. As a cover designer for the publishing giant Alfred A. Knopf, he has collaborated since 1986 with renowned authors such as Haruki Murakami, Orhan Pamuk, Oliver Sacks, Donna Tartt, David Sedaris, and hundreds of others. He has been awarded the National Design Award for Communication by the Cooper-Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum— the highest honor for a graphic designer. His TED talk in 2012, titled "Designing books is no laughing matter. Okay, it is," has surpassed 1,600,000 views.
