Foteini Kontopoulou
Fotini Kontopoulou is a kindergarten teacher based in Megara, Attica. She is married and a mother of two. She graduated from the Pedagogical Department of Early Childhood Education in Patras and continued her studies in Nursing at the Hellenic Red Cross. She has also studied Psychotherapy and Greek Sign Language, and has been involved in Museum Education and trained in Health Education programs. As part of her educational work, she has engaged in innovative activities and Health Education Programs. She collaborated with Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in intercultural education and training. In 2016, she was awarded by the Hellenic Society for the Protection of Nature for her kindergarten's initiative on "food waste management" (2013-14). In January 2017, she was honored by the Municipality of Megara for her environmental awareness efforts as an educator and as a school. In June of the same year, the school was recognized by UNICEF for the program "let me introduce you to my friends, the children of the world." She also participated in a nationwide student fairy tale competition with the theme "don't cry peace..." and was awarded at the 4th Panhellenic Student Conference "the music of old metals" by the Hellenic Society for the Protection of Nature (April 2016) for her participation theme "bringing classic fairy tales to life with constructions from recyclable materials."
