
Giorgos Zarkadakis
Born in Athens in 1964, he studied systems engineering and automatic control at City University in London. In 1988, he completed his Ph.D. in artificial intelligence with applications in medicine. Subsequently, he worked as a technology assistant at the European Communities Commission in Brussels and as an executive at the IT companies Andersen Consulting and Silicon Graphics. Alongside his scientific pursuits and research at the National Technical University of Athens and the University of Athens, he has published the novels: "The Secrets of the Lands Without" (Alexandria 1994, Kedros 1996), "Eastern End" (Kedros 1996, 1999), "Archipelago State" (Kedros 1999, 2000), "The Passage" (Kastaniotis 2004), and the short story collection "When America Disappeared" (Kedros, 2002). He is the editor of the scientific journal Focus.
