David Bentley Hart

David Bentley Hart (born 1965) is an American Orthodox theologian and philosopher. His research interests range from patristic studies (Saint Gregory of Nyssa, Saint Maximus the Confessor) to medieval philosophical systems and existentialism. He studied at the University of Maryland (USA) and pursued postgraduate studies at the University of Cambridge (UK), earning his Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Virginia (USA). He has taught at numerous universities across the United States and, since 2015, holds the Templeton Chair at the Institute for Advanced Study at the University of Notre Dame. His book "The Atheist Delusions" won the Michael Ramsey Prize for theological writing in 2011.
