
Sofia Nikolaidou
Sophia Nikolaidou studied classical philology (undergraduate and postgraduate studies) and the application of information and communication technologies for teaching literature (doctoral dissertation). She has published novels, short story collections, studies, and translations. Her novel "The Scapegoat" (Metaichmio, 2012) was translated into English and is available from Melville House. Her novel "Tonight We Have No Friends" (Metaichmio, 2010) was translated into Hebrew and is available from Kester Books; this book was awarded the Athens Prize for Literature in 2010. Her book "All Good Things" (Metaichmio, 2015) received the Special State Literary Award for an author whose work promotes dialogue on sensitive social issues.
From 1992 to 2018, she worked as a philologist in a school. Since 2002, she has been teaching Creative Writing in postgraduate programs (at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the University of Western Macedonia) and workshops (at the Book Workshop of the National Book Centre of Greece, in public and private institutions). She has written plays and film scripts.
Since 2019, she has been teaching Creative Writing at the Department of Journalism and Mass Media Communication at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
