Rudolf Steiner

Rudolf Steiner was born in 1861 in Kraljevec, then part of Austria-Hungary. He was the son of an Austrian railway employee. He completed his secondary education in the city of Wiener Neustadt with excellent grades and distinction. He then studied mathematics and physics at the Vienna University of Technology. Simultaneously, he pursued studies in philology, philosophy, and history. He conducted specialized studies on the works of Goethe and Schiller. In 1891, he was awarded a Doctorate in Philosophy from the University of Rostock in Germany. He worked in publishing and as an educator. Most notably, he possessed intuitive, clairvoyant abilities and was able to conduct scientific research in spiritual realms, providing guidance for practical application in daily life. Rudolf Steiner dedicated his life to leaving behind a vast spiritual legacy for humanity when he passed away in 1925. In addition to his written works, he delivered approximately 6,000 lectures, many of which were later published as books. He offered insights and new directions in numerous fields, such as Medicine, Education, Sociology, Art, Theater, Philosophy, and Agriculture (see Biodynamic farming). He conducted specialized seminars for groups of people who requested them in several countries. He was able to speak about the great mysteries of humanity and the world to both laypeople and scientists. Since 1956, the management team of Rudolf Steiner's spiritual legacy has worked on publishing his works, which comprise 350 volumes. These include: his writings in the first part, his lectures in the second, and his artistic work in the third. Today, in Dornach, Switzerland (near Basel), there is a free university called the Goetheanum. It is an impressive and unique building, the architectural plans for which were designed by Rudolf Steiner himself, thus giving new impetus to Architecture. There, seminars, lectures, theatrical performances, and other artistic events of spiritual content are held. The spiritual science or anthroposophy that he founded is cultivated there. The practical applications of this science in Education, Medicine, Agriculture, etc., are now a recognized reality in many countries.
