
Sheila Fitzpatrick
The Australian Sheila Fitzpatrick (1940) is a distinguished historian specializing in the history of the Soviet Union. After decades of teaching at the Universities of Chicago, Texas, and New York (Columbia), she currently teaches at the University of Sydney. Her scholarly work has earned her numerous accolades, including an award in 2012 from the American Historical Association—the highest honor in the field of historical studies in the United States. She is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences as well as a member of the Australian Academy of the Humanities. Other books by her include: "The Russian Revolution," "Everyday Stalinism," "Tear Off the Masks!," "A Spy in the Archives."
