Symoni Katramadou

Simone Katramadou was born and raised in Mytilene, Lesvos. She studied French Philology/Linguistics and Law at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She obtained a master's degree in Computational Linguistics from the University of Manchester, England, and a Ph.D. in Theoretical Linguistics from the University of Johannesburg. She works as a cultural affairs expert at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, specializing in European educational and cultural policies. In recent years, she has participated in European committees and organizations focused on integrating culture into the EU's external relations, while promoting Greece's collaboration with other European countries to showcase Greek and European culture in third countries. She has lived for study or work in England, South Africa, and Canada. In her free time, she enjoys painting and hiking (having trekked in the Alps and the savannas of South Africa), as well as winter skiing, sailing, and diving. She has traveled to many parts of the world and wishes to see even more. However, she always returns to her base, Greece, and her beloved homeland, Mytilene.
