Aslı E. Perker was born in 1975 in Izmir. Due to her father's job, she attended elementary, middle, and high school in different cities across Turkey. She graduated from Dokuz Eylül University with a degree in American Literature and Culture. She began her professional career as a copywriter at an advertising agency and later worked as a journalist for the magazines Aktüel, Radikal, Yeni Binyıl, and finally for the newspaper Sabah. In 2001, she moved to New York City, where she worked as a translator while also pursuing her passion for literature. Her first novel, "The Scent of Others," was published in 2005, followed by her second, "The Executioners' Cemetery," in 2009, and her third, "Soufflé," in 2011. She contributes articles to various publications. She resides in New York, Istanbul, and Foça (Phocaea).
