Stefanos Stamellos

Stefanos Stamellos was born in Petralona, Evrytania, in 1954 and currently resides in Lamia. He is married and a father of two. A graduate of the Athens University of Economics and Business (Department of Economic Science), he worked at OTE, from which he retired. He has been actively involved in social and political activities for many years within the left-wing sphere and is now engaged in political ecology, having participated as a candidate for both parliamentary and European elections. Additionally, he is involved in ecological activities with local organizations and Citizen Movements. From 1991 to 1994, he served as a municipal councilor in the Municipality of Lamia and was the chairman of the municipal Environment Committee. He is the responsible administrator of the website http://www.e-ecology.gr, which publishes texts and articles on ecology, the environment, quality of life, and mountaineering, as well as several thematic blogs about the Lamia and Fthiotida region. The website was awarded by OIKOPOLIS (http://www.ecocity.gr) in the "environmental sensitivity" awards as the amateur journalist of the year 2008. His hobbies include photography, mountaineering (expeditions to the Himalayas and the Caucasus), competitive mountain running, and endurance road running.
