Giorgos Poulimenos
George Poulimenos was born in Athens in 1959, with roots in Kato Panagia, Cesme, Asia Minor. He studied chemical engineering in Karlsruhe and subsequently engaged in software development for the automotive industry and consulting firms in Germany. After returning to Greece, he worked for two decades as a network manager and analyst/programmer at Aluminium of Greece, developing a wide range of applications. Beyond his professional pursuits, he has a keen interest in studying the history of the Lost Homelands of Asia Minor. In 2012, he published "A Lexicon of Smyrneika," a small trilingual dictionary of the Smyrna dialect, in collaboration with Smyrna Levantines Alex Baltazzi and George Galdies. In 2017, he released "Smyrna/Izmir - Historical Map," which depicts the locations of the city's lost historical monuments on the fabric of modern Izmir. His most recent work is the two-volume book "The Quay of Smyrna," co-authored with Achilleas Chatzikonstantinou, based on years of research.
