Kallia Katsampoxaki - Hodgetts

Kallia Katsampoxaki-Hodgetts holds a Master in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (MED TEFL, University of Bristol, UK). She has been working at the University of Crete since 2001 as an English instructor at the School of Sciences and Engineering. She is the author of the book "English For Chemistry EAP" and several other manuals related to Academic English for Physics, English for Materials Technology, English for Mathematics, and English for Biology. She has also taught a range of ESP courses, such as English for Business, English for Secretaries, and English for Tourism. Additionally, she has designed and implemented open-access online courses (1. Academic English 2. Teaching Approach to Educational Sciences Examinations) and is the coordinator of the international summer course "Academic English for Chemistry Graduates" at the University of Crete. She delivers lectures and seminars across Europe on Technical Writing for postgraduate students who wish to publish in academic journals. Her research interests include collaborative writing in English for Specific Purposes (ESP), peer feedback as a learning tool, teaching natural sciences through Inquiry-Based Science Education (IBSE), Dictogloss, and genre analysis as a learning tool.
