Halil Inalcik

Halil Inalcik is a professor of Turkish history at Ankara University. He has conducted research and given lectures in England and America, and his works on the Ottoman Empire have been translated into the major European languages. He served as the president of the International Association of Southeast European Studies and was one of the principal contributors to the Encyclopedia of Islam.
